Call for Festival Art!

Port Townsend’s Creative District seeks the work of a local artist to utilize as the 2024 Soundcheck Music & Arts Festival graphic. 

The selected artwork will be featured on the Soundcheck website, printed posters, marketing materials, and social media. This request is for the limited-use licensing of artwork, which may be either a newly-created or a pre-existing piece. 

The selected artist will retain ownership of their original work, while receiving a $250 licensing fee for the festival’s use of the work on marketing materials. To be eligible, artists must reside in Jefferson County, Washington (preferably in Port Townsend) and provide submissions in a jpg, png, or pdf format. 

When utilized in Soundcheck marketing materials, the selected artwork may be resized, excerpted, or placed on a background, but will not be modified from its original design. Animated graphics are welcomed. Religious and political art will not be considered or selected. 

Artists can view the 2023 Soundcheck art by Port Townsend artist Michelle Hagewood sprinkled throughout this website.

The deadline for Soundcheck art submittals is May 31, 2024. Submissions must be sent to ptsoundcheck@gmail.com by the deadline. 

Soundcheck will take place August 15-18, 2024. The festival features a wealth of local talent with performances, art, and interactive events that celebrate Port Townsend’s dynamic cultural and artistic ecosystem.
